Running laps and basic wind-sprints are fine but you’ll want to make football drills fun for the kids. You’ll want to focus on football drills that help develop football fundamentals such as blocking, tackling, and special teams. Do your best to minimize your youth football team from simply standing around. Also, don’t spend a lot of time lecturing to your football team. Many youth football coaches spend too much time teaching by talking instead of active teaching. You’ll want to limit your talking and focus more on fun and fast paced football drills and scrimmaging. If you see a football player do something wrong, simply pull him or her off to the side and quickly show the child what they did wrong and then how to correct.  Just make sure your always positive with your players.
