Make sure you are coaching for the right reasons. You need to show the kids how to play as a team. It’s important that the kids show you respect and your other coaches respect. Make sure you concentrate on the teamwork aspect of football. A top youth football coach will help the kids set goals and help them reach their goals so the kids really feel great about themselves. Make sure you are going into your football coaching because you love the game and not because you want to relive your old football career through the kids.

You Must Enjoy Teaching The Game Of Football!

Teaching children the basics of football at this state is very important. You want to concentrate on teaching the basics of football such as football safety, proper blocking techniques and proper tackling techniques. Many times depending on how young your youth football players are, your have to teach them the basic rules of football including football positions. Make Sure You Run an Efficient and Fast-Paced Football Practice with A Ton Of Fun Football Drills!

Make sure your condition drills and warm ups are fun. Do not run your little football players into the ground with a ton of boring cardio and endurance drills. One of the best ways to condition youth football players is by setting up games where they do a lot of running and do not ever realize they are getting in shape. Running laps and basic wind-sprints are fine but you’ll want to make football drills fun for the kids. You’ll want to focus on football drills that help develop football fundamentals such as blocking, tackling, and special teams. Do your best to minimize your youth football team from simply standing around. Also, don’t spend a lot of time lecturing to your football team. Many youth football coaches spend too much time teaching by talking instead of active teaching. You’ll want to limit your talking and focus more on fun and fast paced football drills and scrimmaging. If you see a football player do something wrong, simply pull him or her off to the side and quickly show the child what they did wrong and then how to correct.  Just make sure your always positive with your players.
